Donna Stone – Pack Leader
I love dogs. Although I’ve an affinity for the larger dog, I will admit I love all dogs. Actually, I think most of my Insta friends are dogs! I grew up with dogs and then later my own dogs were Rottweilers, Labradors and my big fellow now is Caesar, a Shepweiler. My energetic grand-puppy Theo is a German Shepherd.
I’ve been involved in fundraising activities for horses and dogs and that’s one of the things I want to do with this business – donate money back to a great dog charity called Gumtree Greys which specifically helps Greyhounds. Since 2019, I’ve been one of the hosts operating an annual charity event that specifically raises funds for animal charities and awareness around the use of animals in sport and entertainment.
As a business owner of multiple businesses and over 3 decades of business experience, I know and love business. It makes my day when I can provide a solution to a person’s problem. One of the problems I experienced as a big dog owner was finding the right products for my four-legged friend. Hence the idea of 4BIGDOGS.COM.AU – products that solve that exact problem. Our products have been tried and tested by various members of the team to ensure they will meet your expectations; because they have met our expectations and have earned our PAW OF APPROVAL STAMP!
Meet Caesar – Bed Tester Extraordinaire
Woof! I’m Caesar, an 11-year-old Shepweiler (German Shepherd/Rottweiler cross). A couple of years ago I hurt my back leg; gosh it hurt and it still bothers me a little. The vet also recently mentioned something about hip dysplasia … but hey, I’m getting a bit grey around the muzzle, so I guess aches and pains are a bit normal, aren’t’ they? So with these aches and being close to 40 kilos, plus a few years under my collar, I was so happy when my human got me a new bed. It’s brilliant! My old beds were useless; just flattened into nothing more than the thickness similar to a mat on the floor; giving me no support or padding. May as well have been lying on concrete. And my new bed fits me. I can lie on my side and really stretch out without falling off. I’ve got a perfect bed now, and those old ones, well, good thing they went into the bin. Good riddance to them. Had my new bed over a year now and it’s as good and supportive as the day we unpacked it. It’s got my PAW OF APPROVAL!
Meet Theo – Product Destructibility Tester
Howdy! Just hit my first birthday and already I have a job. And I love it! I get to test out things, destroy toys, try to spill water and generally have fun and be boisterous. How cool is that! I’m a German Shepherd and I’ve eclipsed Uncle Caesar in weight and height, but I know my place; get a bit too cheeky and he’ll remind me who is boss! I guess I got the job because I have (as everyone seems to comment) massive paws … which seem to just get me in a little bit of trouble. I tip over my food and the water bowl (which always gets a “oh Theo!”). Plus, I’ve now got my ‘big boy’ teeth and they are awesome. I love the challenge of how quickly I can chew a toy, shred it and generally see how long something will actually last. Did I say how much I love my job?!
If a toy or some other product is ‘Theo proof’, then it’s got my PAW OF APPROVAL!
Meet Olive – Charity Inspiration
Hi! I’m Olive and I’m a 15-year-old greyhound. My wonderful human rescued me from a life of greyhound racing. I hear my human describe me as gentle with a kind personality. Yes, I’m a bit shy and well, as I’m getting on in years, I need some decent padding. Unlike Caesar, I don’t have his body padding, so I really feel hard surfaces.
A little bite of trivia, we greyhounds almost never bark. I’m really happy to have inspired Donna to raise funds and awareness for greyhounds – thanks!
